A Retrospective of My LOL Career

I played League of Legends from season 2 in 2012 until season 13 in 2023. I played for about 11 or 12 years. It’s fair to estimate that I’ve played League of Legends for somewhere from 3,000 to 4,000 hours. Out of thousands of games, there were probably only 10 games where I single-handedly carried my team to victory, and most of those games happened from season 2 until season 6, or 2012 to 2016. I watched professional League of Legends for hundreds of hours, too. If I had to guess, I’d say that I watched pro LOL for 600 hours. I watched most of the Worlds tournaments from 2012 until 2023, and there were some Worlds events for certain and different years that I enjoyed watching. I got a few pentakills. I don’t remember if I ever got a pentakill in a ranked game, but I know I got a few pentakills in a few normal draft games. I played a few games of LOL with people who I knew in real life, and those were somewhat special, but I don’t remember much about those experiences other than that they happened. I was ranked bronze and iron for most of my LOL career. I felt frustrated at the end of my career, mainly because I lost more than I expected to lose, and that was one reason why I decided to quit. Another reason why I quit was that LOL will have Vanguard sometime soon. All in all, LOL was a pretty boring and unpleasant game for me. If my experience playing LOL were a bit worse, I would have quit earlier. I’m happy I quit LOL, and I feel like quitting LOL improved my life.
